Ever stayed in a hotel you'd want to live in right away? Why not bring the necessary interior design inspiration from hotels literally into your home?
ELLE Decoration colleagues lend a hand.
Hotel Panache
Dorothée Meilichzon designed this Art Nouveau-inspired headboard for Hotel Panache in Paris. The mix of patterns, in beige and subdued red, does it justice. So does the custom-made lamp by Areti, by the way.
Ham Yard Hotel
All 91 rooms at the Ham Yard Hotel in London were each designed by Kit Kemp, and each is a mix of colourful patterns with neutrals and crazy details. Is the headboard just a little too bold for you? Keep all the colours the same and you'll get a similar result.
Soho House Istanbul
Every Soho hotel is bulging with inspiration that you'll want to apply immediately at home, but one specific idea: create a mini-sitting area with velvet armchairs in the bedroom, like the version in Istanbul has.
The Hoxton
The rooms at The Hoxton, Amsterdam, which opened last year, are called masculine. Or, in true Dutch: cosy. But without being fussy, courtesy of the leather and wooden details.
Hotel des Galeries
How come you feel so calm? 1) You're on holiday, but 2) the soothing green colour tones in the rooms at the Hotel des Galeries in Brussels, conceived by Fleur Delesalle and Camille Flammarion. So bring in green details for tranquillity in your bedroom.
Halcyon House
Combining totally different prints on the wall and on the bed seems a bit hysterical, but it can also be fun, as seen in the rooms of Halcyon House, a boutique hotel on the east coast of Australia.
Rosas & Xocolate
Want to keep the wall calm? Then look for accents in the furniture or just on the floor. Or in both, as seen at Rosas & Xocolate, Mexico.
Henry Howard Hotel
Always fun: honouring local customs, traditions or other pride. The Henry Howard Hotel, for example, pays homage to jazz. Not surprising, given that it is located in New Orleans. Have wallpaper made of what your heart is in, or what your hometown is known for.
Riad Mena
More of the neutral colours? Then check out the Riad Mena in Marrakech. The so-called Eileen Gray suite is a great example of how to achieve beautiful results with a minimalist colour palette.
Chicago Athletic Association
In 1890, the Chicago Athletic Association hotel was an athletic club. You can see the influences of that in the rooms. And even if you have nothing to do with the sport, this interior may appeal to you. Because hello, marble floors!
Palazzo Dama
Small is obviously fine, at the Palazzo Dama in Rome. Notice especially how the lavender-coloured accents create a tranquil feel. Especially in combination with the wood and blue.
