JWI Award Winners

Pascack Valley Chapter was named “Model Chapter of the Year” at the JWI Biennial Meeting, June 6, in Washington, D.C. The northern New Jersey chapter has many accomplishments to its credit, including cooking meals for a local shelter, holding a children’s mitzvah project at a local nursing home, meeting its fund-raising allocation for the 20th year and having an excellent bulletin.

Also honored during the meeting was JWI President-Elect Shelley Herman. She received the Lena Orlow Ginsburg Award for Outstanding Volunteer Leadership for spearheading programs to help abused women and children in the New York City area.
